On August 10, 2022, representatives of the IT Ukraine Association and Kobe City Government met at an online press conference to discuss the results and plans of cooperation. One of the main topics was the CHI Kobe office opening in May 2022, during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Starting in 2021, the IT Ukraine Association has been developing international partnerships to promote the Ukrainian tech community. A new strategy was named the IT Export Boost, a joint initiative of the Exporters and Investors Council under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the IT Ukraine Association.
The IT Export Boost channeled network opportunities to 14 foreign markets, including Japan. In May 2021, the project’s geography expanded to 21 states. This cooperation has resulted in many projects. One of them was the CHI Software office opening in Kobe, Japan.
“I am delighted to welcome CHI Software to Kobe, Japan. The CHI Kobe office will surely be a catalyst for cooperation between the Ukrainian IT industry and Japanese businesses striving for IT innovations. The Kobe City Government is going to partner with Ukraine and the IT Ukraine Association, and I strongly believe that Kobe can be a great gateway for Ukrainian companies to access the Japanese market,” – Kizō Hisamoto, mayor of Kobe.
“The opening of CHI Software’s office in Kobe confirms Japan’s interest in the skills and knowledge of Ukrainian IT specialists. We are sure the CHI Software case will contribute to further development of the Ukraine-Japan collaboration in the IT sphere”, – Denys Yakovenko, First Secretary (Trade and Economic Affairs; Science and Technology) at the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan.
“CHI Software is grateful to the Kobe city administration and mayor Hisamoto san personally, our colleagues from the IT Ukraine Association, Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ukrainian Embassy in Japan for strong support in establishing our representative office in Japan. We believe that our partnership is a solid foundation for impressive results in the near future. The CHI Software team is looking forward to applying our tech expertise to solve pressing challenges of Japanese businesses,” – Olena Morozova, Chief Project Officer at CHI Software.
