Our main tasks were to:
– Improve solution security;
– Minimize or eliminate cyber solution complexity;
– Create, backup, and support virtual machines (VM).

Therefore, our client’s main business needs were to:
– Eliminate cyber solution complexity and improve security;
– Create, backup, and support virtual machines (VM);
– Deploy systems of VMs and provide an easy interface to serve them;
– Create, validate and convert to VM backups from different virtualization platforms;
– Debug and fix bugs in the existing and new product features.
Our development team is mostly engaged in backups support, in particular to remote machines, local machines, and other media, like CD discs and cassettes.
– Cassettes are used by big enterprises when they need to back up large amounts of data
– Our main task is to fix bugs in the backup logic for these devices
– We are to debug new features, like Continuous Data Protection
– A new task we are going to work on is the ability to backup to Azure and AWS cloud using the client’s solution

From the first days on this project, I was impressed by the amount of code, features, and functions of the software that the company releases. My first fears that the project contains a lot of legacy code were absolutely unjustified. The level of organization of the architecture, team interaction, and issue management within the team are at the highest level. Despite the extensive structure, it was not difficult for me to figure out the development direction and proceed. The onboarding was fast and painless thanks to the team. From the technical point of view, I could not imagine there would be so many new and interesting devices to deal with and work on. And most importantly, I liked the feeling that technological giants around the world use the result of my work every day.
